These forms are inspired by images of ancient plant life. Diatoms are primitive unicellular plant forms that inhabit oceans and rivers around the world. The images and surface textures found in these works are derived directly from magnified images of the Diatoms that are found in the coastal waters and rivers of Western Australia.

Their primitive patterning and simplicity of form are echoed in tribal art the world over. My joy has been in reinventing their form and function as metal bowls and platters
